Sunshine and good weather played nicely on Saturday for some backyard baseball as the Duluth Huskies played the second of their five-game home stretch, as they invited the Minnesota Mud Puppies into wade stadium for an evening game.

The Mud Puppies got on the board first with a solo home run by Will Couchman. In the bottom of the second innings, with bases load, a ball hit Raymond Velazquez and sent him to first, allowing Jared Matem to grab the Huskies’ first run of the game and tie it up at one.

The bats for the Huskies got on fire in the second and fourth inning scoring three unanswered runs; going on to win big 11-2.

They will hit the field again on Sunday to face off against the Minnesota Mud Puppies for game two. First pitch is set for 3:05 pm.
