On Friday the Duluth Huskies would drop their final game of June to the Eau Claire Express 6-5 at Wade Stadium.

The Huskies struggled early allowing five runs in the first inning. They would answer with one of their own in the bottom of the frame. Duluth’s offense heated up in the fourth inning as they scored three runs, two off of a Michael Hallquist two-run homer.

This breathed life back into the team, including the defense. Trailing just 6-4 in the sixth inning the Huskies would pull off a triple play. Pitcher Preston Tenney would catch the hit, throw to Jack Gallagher at first, who then found Hasani Johnson at second for all three outs.

Despite tacking on one more run in the eighth the Huskies dropped the Northwoods League series opener 6-5. Their finale is Saturday at 6:35 p.m. in Eau Claire.
