Hermantown welcomes home the Hawks as champions

All of Hermantown headed out to the Hermantown Ice Arena on Sunday to welcome back their 2022 Class A state champions.

As the team returned home to a sea of friends, family, and fans after a 3-2 win against Warroad.

"Well, that’s what it’s all about. And especially the best part is seeing the kids, the young players, they just so awesome. You know, like, that’s what our program is all about. I mean, watching these kids grow up and and dream of doing what we just did. You know, you heard the captains talk about it, right. Like they were those kids and they dream of that moment, and now, you know, you’re inspiring the next generation. So it’s pretty cool," said head coach Patrick Andrews.

"It feels like the whole community is here, we won the state championship it’s awesome. Its great for the community, it’s great for everyone and we are happy we brought it back," added senior defender Beau Janzig.

A magical event, to cap off a magical season as champions.
