The Hermantown Hawks girl’s soccer team are looking for a bounce back effort this season after last year ended with a 5-11 record.

However the team gradually grew stronger as the year went on, making it all the way to the Section 7AA semifinal, a stepping stone for this years team.

“As a team we really came together towards the end, winning our first section game then taking the number one seed Grand Rapids, to a shootout. So, I think it’s less about the record and more about how we grew as a team and how we we came together towards the end of the season,” said head coach Nate Hanson.

“I think we just have a lot of skill on this team Pair that with working on and off the field using our skill and our hard work can really help us with the season and the success that we want to see by the end of it,” added senior Karlee Gilbertson.

The Hawks start their season this Thursday on the road against Northbranch at 7:00 p.m.
