There was battle along the north shore as the Hayward boy’s hockey team made a trip into Two Harbors for a Thursday night battle against North Shore.

The Hurricanes were looking to pick up their first win of the season but the Storm were trying to spoil their visit. However, Hayward would skate to a 5-1 win.

Monte Goold scored first for Hayward in the first period. The Storm’s Jake Stadler would tally their sole goal to tie it 1-1 in the second.

With this win Hayward improves to 1-2 on the season. The next time they’ll have a chance to go 2-2 is on Tuesday, December 15th, when they face off against Baldwin-Woodville. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
