Grand Rapids’ Toivonen first female athlete named to Academic All-State football team

Grand Rapids’ Riley Toivonen has made state history. On Tuesday she became the first female to be named to the Minnesota Football Coaches Association’s AAAA Academic All-State team.
The senior served as the Thunderhawks kicker this season. In early September she became the first girl to score a point for the program, hitting a field goal.
