Grand Rapids’ Casey, Hermantown’s Francisco earn YHH Player of the Year honors

Wednesday two Northlanders received state-wide recognition for their impressive work during the 2022-2023 youth hockey season.
At the Youth Hockey Hub year-end awards ceremony Hermantown’s A.J. Francisco was named 2023 Bantam Player of the Year and Grand Rapids’ Carter Casey was named 2023 Boys Goalie of the Year.
In North Region play this winter Francisco factored into seven of the Hawks’ nine goals. Previously in his career he also earned Pewee Player of the Year honors.
Casey made 90 saves in this year’s state tournament helping the Thunderhawks to a fourth place finish.
