Former University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s hockey star Sydney Brodt has re-signed a professional deal with the Minnesota Whitecaps of the Premiere Hockey Federation (PHF).

The team announced Tuesday the captain inked a two-year deal to stay in her home state, a North Oaks, Minnesota native.

Last season was the forward’s first in the PHF. She’d record five goals with four assists in 21 regular season games played.

Additionally, 25-year-old Brodt earned a PHF All-Star selection, skated in the ECHL All-Star Classic, and was invited to join the U.S. Women’s National Team for the Rivalry Series against Team Canada.

Brodt served as a three-time captain for UMD recording 98 points from 2016 to 2020.
