Fond du Lac Tribal & Community College discontinues athletics

As of March 3, 2023 athletics will no longer be offered at the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College (FDLTCC).
Acting President Anita Hanson released a statement on the school’s website announcing that Thunder athletic programs will be discontinued.
The decision impacts men’s and women’s basketball, and women’s volleyball. The football team already folded in 2022.
Hanson’s statement said, in-part, that after consulting with the athletic department it was decided that the funding used for athletics should be reallocated to benefit a larger percentage of students.
She cited low engagement and Covid-19 pandemic related struggles as factors in the decision.
FDLTCC has offered intercollegiate athletics since 2007.
