Five with Bulldog hockey ties heading to Women’s World Championship

At least five with University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s hockey ties have been invited to skate in the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women’s World Championship in Denmark.
Former Bulldog goalie Maddie Rooney has been named to Team USA. Fifth-year senior goalie Emma Soderberg and former forward Michelle Lowenhielm are on Team Sweden’s roster.
Canada is welcoming back fifth-year defenseman Ashton Bell and former blue liner Jocelyne Laroque. Together they helped Canada win gold in Beijing and gold at the 2021 World Championship.
The tournament is August 24 through September 4.
