Duluth FC hosts official signing day for 2024 club

In exactly one week the Duluth FC men’s soccer club will kickoff their 2024 season. They got into the spirit of things on Wednesday hosting their official signing day at St. Luke’s Hospital.

John Shuster, co-owner of Duluth FC, helped introduce the signing athletes. Of the five Bluegreens, two were very familiar faces; captain Jake Starling and Felipe Oliveira. Oliveira also played for the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS), completing his senior season this past fall. Meanwhile, Starling is the club’s leader in games and minutes played.

“I think building off of what we did last year, we had an undefeated season through the regular season and lost a very, very heartbreaking way in the playoffs. I think we have some of our guys who are returning who thought we had unfinished business, and other guys coming in that have heard about the quality of soccer that we have up here,” Shuster said.

The Bluegreens’ season opener is at home, Wednesday, May 15 at 7 p.m. They will host Joy Athletic Club at Duluth Denfeld High School.
