DIII Men's Hockey: No. 8 CSS ties with St. Olaf, UWS falls to No. 14 UW-Eau Claire

In Division III men’s college hockey on Friday, No. 8 College of St. Scholastica (CSS) tied with St. Olaf, winning the shootout, while the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) fell to No. 14 UW-Eau Claire.

At Mars Lakeview Arena, eighth ranked CSS officially tied St. Olaf 3-3 then won the shootout 2-0 for the extra Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) point. Tristan Shewchuk scored two goals for the Saints, one in the first and one in the second period, then Filimon Ledenkov scored their third goal in the third period. Connor Kalthoff scored St. Olaf’s final two goals in the third to force OT. For the full box score, Click Here.

The Saints now sit 12-3-1 and rematch St. Olaf in Northfield Friday at 5 p.m.

At Wessman Arena, UWS fell to 14th ranked UW-Eau Claire 2-0. The Blugolds scored both of their goals in the second period. UWS goaltender Kobe Grant recorded 22 saves.

The Yellowjackets fall to 10-8 and rematch Eau Claire Saturday at 7:05 p.m. back at Wessman Arena.
