On Friday, the College of St. Scholastica (CSS) men’s and women’s teams both struggled in their season openers, falling 7-1 and 8-0 respectively.

On the men’s side, CSS struggled to find an answer against the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s offense, finding themselves in a two goal deficit at the half.

It would take until the 55th minute for CSS to strike, as Rodrigo Gonzalez found the back of the net for CSS’ first goal of the year.

For the women, Hardin-Simmons did all they could to stifle the CSS offense, as the Saints didn’t tally a single shot on goal the entire match.

Both teams continue their quest for their first win on Sunday, September 3rd with the men welcoming Luther College at 5:30 p.m. while the women play No. 25 Mary Hardin-Baylor at 11 a.m.
