The College of Saint Scholastica football team came marching in to their first practice of 2022 Friday at St. Scholastica.

While CSS struggled to find the win column in their first season in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Conference last fall, their core values of ‘living the standard’ have their over 40 fresh faces and two seniors ready to rebuild.

“We are going to change nothing that we are doing, we are going to stay the course. We are going to control what we can control, we are worried about us not anyone else. The MIAC is a great league as we know, and we experienced that first hand and we are going to continue to take a step forward everyday. That really is the only thing we can worry about,” said head coach Mike Heffernan.

“We had a lot of adversity last year between new coaches, and a lot of new players. We are coming into this year very confident, since we have a lot of players now that are in year two. Even farther than that in our program, and they have followed all our standards,” added senior safety Jake Kukowski.

The Saints kickoff their season taking an out of state trip to visit a brand new opponent, Sewanee on September 3rd.
