Exercise competitions have been growing in recent years due in-part to CrossFit. The culture of CrossFit, and CrossFit games, have helped curate a competitive environment around fitness.

This weekend, for the first time ever in Duluth, the GameDay North licensed CrossFit event will be taking place at the DECC.

It will incorporate both individual and team events where athletes will be tested across a variety of different disciplines like running speed, climbing, and heavy weight lifting.

“It can be kind of mind blowing,” Chris Bell said, the owner and director of performance training at IST Fitness in Duluth. “The level of fitness that people are displaying, and people are on display, and they’re exercising and they’re working super hard. If you’ve never seen anything like it, you can see it in person here.”

Both team and individual events are scheduled to begin Saturday at 8 a.m. and run through Sunday at 5 p.m.

The event is free to the public. For more information, Click Here.
