Cloquet, Grand Rapids to meet in 7AAA Volleyball championship after Monday night wins
Cloquet and Grand Rapids both played exceptionally well on Monday, leading them to face each other in the 7AAA volleyball championship on Thursday.
On a snowy Monday night in the Northlands, there was heat being brought inside some local gyms, as #1 Cloquet volleyball knocked out North Branch Area 3-1, and #3 Grand Rapids upset #2 Hermantown.
For Cloquet, they were given quite the scare, as they actually dropped the first match, 25-22. They then bounced back behind the big presence of Ava Carlson and won the next three straight, 25-20, 25-17, 25-22.
On the other hand, Grand Rapids stormed into Hermantown High School and left with a straight set sweep, winning 26-24, 25-16, 25-19.
The 7AAA Volleyball championship match between Cloquet and Grand Rapids will be played on Thursday, Nov. 2 at Hermantown High School. Game time is 6 PM.
