This year marks the 50th anniversary of the 1973 Chisholm boys basketball team’s Class A state championship.

On Thursday those Bluestreaks were honored on their home court.

They were led to that title win by legendary head coach Bob McDonald. Chisholm beat Melrose 53-52 to finish the year 27-1. It was the program’s second of now four state titles.

At their original celebration banquet in 1973 WDIO President Fran Befera was a keynote speaker.
