Bulldog football not underestimating UMary squad stomping into Duluth Saturday

The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) football returns to action this Saturday for back-to-back home games hosting the University of Mary (UMary).

This will be the second divisional game between both squads, however UMD holds the historic advantage leading the Marauders 14-0 in an all-time series dating back to 2006.

In last season’s meeting quarterback Logan Graetz recorded four touchdowns in UMD’s 31-27 win.

Despite UMary’s 0-2 record on the road this season, the Bulldogs aren’t taking them lightly.

“The University of Mary is a good football team. Don’t let their record fool you, they’re talented at the quarterback spot. Offensively, they have one of the top receivers in the country coming into Malosky on Saturday afternoon. So this will be a tough weekend for us matchup wise,” said head coach Curt Wiese.

“They’re a really good defense. They’re really athletic on the back end, and they can do a lot of different things in a lot of different fronts,” graduate tigh end Zach Ojile said. “We’re going to have to get in and communicate and just play our game.”

Kickoff between 3-2 UMD, undefeated at home, and 1-4 U-Mary is set for Noon on Saturday at Malosky Stadium.
