#9 UMD women’s hockey shuts out #2 Colgate on home ice

The UMD women’s hockey team had an 8-4 record going into Friday’s matchup with #2 COlgate, with all four losses coming to ranked teams, having lost twice to Ohio State and Minnesota.

That changed on Friday night though, as the Bulldogs shut out the Raiders 3-0 behind a stellar defensive night by Hailey MacLeod. The Sophomore tallied 29 saves against the number two team in the country, an incredible feat.

While the first period didn’t have any scoring, the second saw two goals from UMD, off the sticks of Clara Van Wieren and Danielle Burgen. Reece Hunt scored the third goal of the game in the third period.

The Bulldogs are back in action against the Raiders on Saturday at 3:01 p.m. at AMSOIL Arena.
