8th ranked UMD Women’s Hockey uses strong first period to down St. Thomas

The #8 UMD Women's hockey team, led by Reece Hunt, was an offensive powerhouse on Friday, beating St. Thomas 3-1.

A two goal first period was the boost the #8 UMD Women’s hockey team needed on Friday, as they defeated St. Thomas 3-1.

It only took three minutes for the Bulldogs to strike, and it was Reece Hunt who scored, putting the Bulldogs up a goal.

After Hunt’s goal, it was Mannon McMahon who netted her own, pushing the lead to 2-0 going into the second period.

In the second, it was Hunt again who found the back of the net, her second goal of the day.

UMD would allow a goal to the Tommies in the third period, but would hold on defensively to close the game out.

The Bulldogs and Tommies are back in action on Saturday at 3:01 pm.m at AMSOIL Arena.
