#7 UMD women’s hockey shutout by #1 Ohio State
Reece Hunt scored two goals against St. Thomas on Friday, pulling # 8 UMD past the Tommies, 3-1.
The #7 UMD women’s hockey team has scored just two goals against #1 Ohio State in four games this year, and in the latest rendition of the matchup, the Buckeyes blanked the Bulldogs 1-0.
The game, despite the score, couldn’t have been any closer, as it took until a third period power play for the Buckeyes to break through, and the Bulldogs with not enough time to respond.
Goaltender Eve Gascon made 32 stops for UMD, while the defense in front of her blocked 22 OSU shots after blocking 27 last night.
Next up for the Bulldogs is a battle with #2 Wisconsin at AMSOIL Arena next weekend.
