On Tuesday Duluth Denfeld hosted a Signing Day for five of their student-athletes continuing their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.
One of the honored Hunters was Karin Hill who committed to hop over the bridge and join the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) golf team.
“I was the only girl on the golf team so I think it’s pretty cool that I get to go play college,” Hill shared. “I never really thought I’d go so close to home but it’s pretty cool because my sister [Kamryn Hill] goes there too, and plays soccer, so I’ll be alongside her. It will be really exciting to be around her.”
Also signing their NLI Tuesday was cross country’s Grace McCormick and soccer’s Ella Backstrom both heading to the College of St. Scholastica, Charles Juntunen joining Clarke College cross country and track, and Owen Hindermann signing with Crown College baseball.
“I’ve been waiting for a while now, I’ve been committed there since November so it feels good to finally sign the papers,” Hindermann said. “I loved it down there, it just felt like home down there. I’ll miss Denfeld a lot, it helped me grow as a person and as a player.”
Hindermann also played hockey and football for the Hunters.
