Spooner Rails roll full steam past Elk Mound in thrilling season opener

Spooner’s Jacob Hedinger tallied their first touchdown of 2022 on a 58-yard run in the first quarter to tie it 7-7.

After two lightning delays the Spooner football team would get a second wind in their season and home opener Thursday night. The Rails scored 15 unanswered points in the last 6:41 minutes of the fourth quarter to down Elk Mound 29-21.

The Rails (1-0) are back in action Friday, August 26 visiting Hayward for their road opener. Kickoff is set for 7pm.
