The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted everyone, but there are certain groups really struggling, like kids who rely on the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Northland.

The programs and services help enrich, teach, and even feed 8,000 kids across the Northland every year, and right now they could use our support.

One company is stepping up to help with a fundraiser through their restaurants.

"Who doesn't love pizza? Ya know, and when you can have pizza and a fundraiser together, that's a win-win to me," David Heinonen, the Area Supervisor for Papa Murphy's, said.

Papa Murphy's has seen the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Northland change lives.

"They have just done so much for our communities over the years, that it was kind of a no-brainer to partner up with them," Heinonen said.

On Wednesday, May 20th, you can help Papa Murphy's help Northland kids.

"What we're asking the public to do is go online at PapaMurphys.com, order your pizza on there just like you always would, and at the check out your gonna use the word, GIVE20, and that's going to prompt us to give 20 percent of your purchase back to the Boys and Girls Clubs," Heinonen said.

The need for the clubs services is high.

"We've had staff working this entire time through this COVID-19 crisis trying to make sure kids have meals in the neighborhoods," Tammy Sundbom, with the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Northland, said.  "There's been pickup and drop off locations and we've been working with the Valley Youth Center too make sure we are serving over 100 kids a day with dinner and we're also doing snacks."

So if you like pizza, Wednesday would be a really good time to to get one, to go of course.

"Every little bit helps, whether one person does it or a thousand, every little bit helps," Heinonen said.

"Seeing the smiles on the kids faces just makes it all come together," Sundbom said.

If you want to support this worthy effort, make tomorrow a pizza night and go to their website, use the code GIVE20 for participating Papa Murphy's locations in Duluth, Hibbing, Virginia, Grand Rapids, and Cloquet.
