U.S. Steel shares first DR grade pellets have come off the line at Keetac

In Thursday’s earnings statement, U.S. Steel’s CEO said that last month they produced their first DR grade pellets at Keetac.
The pellets are feedstock for direct reduced iron, DRI, which is a critical input for sustainable steelmaking, per the company.
The $150 million dollar investment at the mine is part of the Best for All strategy.
The company broke ground in the fall of 2022.
