400 people from across industries like mining and energy, plus tribal leadership and elected officials mingled at the Better in Our Backyard.

A big turnout for the 4th annual Better in Our Backyard Winter Dinner event at Clyde on Thursday night.

400 people from across industries like mining and energy, plus tribal leadership and elected officials mingled and broke bread.

The keynote speaker was Aaron Witt, a 28-year-old who runs BuildWitt. That company focuses on sharing the important message about the dirt world, as they call it. And he encouraged everyone in the room to start sharing their stories better. That way the next generation will want to join. He said social media is a big part, along with websites. Plus, sharing at your own dinner table can make a difference.

BIOBY is about advocating for responsible industry. They have 80 members, and just welcomed a mining company from Arizona into the group.
