That’s Old News: Puppeteering in 1977

From the WDIO Archives 1977

Thursday happens to be World Puppetry Day. In January 1977, WDIO ran a story about a puppeteer at the College of St. Scholastica.

He had made one basic puppet out of a McDonald’s Big Mac container and a sock and another, larger one controlled by strings and named Frederick Mammoth.

It took him about two weeks to build the mammoth puppet. Frederick and his dinosaur cousin cost about $50 in materials.
