Joe Gatto, a comedian and part of the cast of “Impractical Jokers,” is bringing his Night of Comedy to the DECC this Saturday, April 22.

The Lift Host Baihly Warfield caught up with him before he arrives in the Northland.

“I’ve put together this night of standup for everybody to come out and laugh when we need it most in these crazy times, especially myself,” he said.

Gatto said he’ll tell stories about his life, his “Impractical Jokers” experience, and more.

“When I did it with the boys, we toured doing the ‘Impractical Jokers’ Tour, I’d be one of the four on stage. But now it’s just me. So it is a little different,” he said. “It fails or succeeds all on my shoulders, which is a different thing, which is you’re responsible for 100 percent of the funny, not just 25 percent.”

He’s been touring for about a year, and he said it’s been great to get back to his roots in standup.

“I live to make people laugh. I’ve said that for the longest time. And it’s really what my purpose is here. And I really do enjoy it,” he said. “From a selfish standpoint, I love being that for people because I grew up with watching TV and comedy with my father and bonding over that. So to be that for families and being in their homes, to like deliver that for them over the past 10 years is not lost on me. So it’s a big part of why I do it.”

He’s hoping to take his “3 o’clock walk” and get some local coffee while he’s here.

There are still a few tickets available to his show. They can be purchased online through the DECC.
