Jazz returns to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum

Jazz is coming to The Depot

Live jazz music every Saturday through the end of April.

Jazz at the Depot is returning this Saturday, January 6 at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum.

Every Saturday through the end of April 2024, the train museum welcomes its “Trackside Quartet” featuring the Paul Ierino on keyboard, Jerry Siproth on percussion, John Thorene on bass, and Randy Lee playing everything else. It’s three hours of big band hits, classic jazz favorites, and modern fusion.

The museum’s Executive Director, Ken Buehler explains, “During that golden age of railroading, that’s when you had all these big bands Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman. They all traveled by train of course. Many of them wrote songs about their travels. Duke Ellington ‘Take the A-Train,’ for instance.’

Admission to the museum is $6 for adults and $3 for children. The music plays Saturdays 3-6 p.m..
