OMC Smokehouse has been smoking meats and slinging wings in Duluth since 2018.

“It all started with myself, Jeff, and Dan deciding to find the culture of barbecue,” Louie Hanson said. “We started calling great people across the country all the way to Waco, Texas, just to let us in on their secrets of what made great barbecue great.”

They brought that knowledge back to the Northland to launch the restaurant. On the menu now are things like cheesy jalapeno grits, smoked wings, ribs, and even a Strawberry Fields salad with smoked chicken.

“It’s all about family and culture and just trying to provide a great product, one day at a time,” Hanson said. “We always tell people we’re only as good as our last brisket smoked, so we have to try again tomorrow.”

OMC Smokehouse is open daily at noon. Check out the full menu on OMC’s website.
