As the building undergoes it’s historic rehab, the St. James Social House hosted The Lift when they went live from Bayfield Apple Fest.

“This is really about a place for the community to come together and gather,” Annilisa Bermel told the The Lift. “Think boutique hotel lobby- with a bar and a kitchen.”

Plans include charcuterie boards, vinyl record lounges, and the antler espresso bar. It’s built around items that encourage people to connect.

All the while, the space will be renovated to its original use from 130 years ago: a hotel.

“We’ve got 8 well-appointed boutique hotel rooms upstairs,” Bermel tells The Lift. “All very different. They share a guest private sauna that overlooks the lake.”

There’s also a separate coffee bar upstairs for the guests.
