Lights in the Pines, a new drive-through light display, opens this Friday at the Itasca County Fairgrounds in Grand Rapids.

Lights in the Pines, a new drive-through light display, opens this Friday at the Itasca County Fairgrounds in Grand Rapids.

“So people aren’t traveling almost 100 miles to go see lights, they can come right here to the middle of Itasca County and get a good light show,” Itasca Agriculture Association President Lori Huber said.

People who previewed it last Friday said they’ll be back.

“I thought it was fantastic. We’ve been working on this project for the last couple months, and it all came together,” Lisa Lassen said. “It’s fantastic.”

There is also a Santaland where kids can take pictures with Santa and see some more holiday displays.

Lights in the Pines is open Friday and Saturday nights through Christmas and every night between Dec. 26-31. It costs $10 per car or $25 for small buses.
