Diva Dog bringing Fear Free grooming to the Northland

Opening back in August, Diva Dog in the Piedmont Neighborhood is the region’s only Fear Free Certified and AKC S.A.F.E. Certified groomers.

The business is proud to be the only grooming experience to bring this certification to Northern Minnesota. Owner Robin Pitoscia says, “Diva Dog is the region’s only fear free certified grooming salon, which means that we try to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress of all the dogs that come and visit us.”

“Both of our groomers have been through online training. We have two tests to certify, and then we have continuing education to renew every year,” she says.

Their Fear Free Grooming trains the dogs to be less nervous at the groomers. Robin says, “Just the change in environment, I have noticed has made a big difference in some dogs. Some need us to work with them for a long time before we can get things done. But others, just the change of pace and the quietness of our shop is enough to make them feel a lot more comfortable trying to get it.”
