Connecting and uplifting through the Empowered Women’s Network

The Empowered Women's Network was started to help women connect with each other in the Twin Ports.

The Empowered Women’s Network has been connecting and uplifting women in Duluth for the past five years, and their work continues.

“The Empowered Women’s Network was really started to help women connect with each other in a really supportive, encouraging environment,” current president Sandi Larson said.

They meet the second Friday of every month September through May to connect and discuss specific topics from business to health and wellness to finance.

Kathlynn McConnell started the group about six years ago.

“There were nine of us gathered around a table at Perkins discussing a challenge,” she said. “And the challenge was the group that we were connected with, the Professional Women’s Network, was ending. And it had been in existence for over 25 years.”

That morning, they created a vision for the Empowered Women’s Network, which includes women who are just starting their careers to those enjoying retirement.

There is a mixer coming up April 25.
