Chatting with Korbell the Double Yellow-Headed Amazon

Korbell the Double Yellow-Headed Amazon is a retired ambassador animal from The Lake Superior Zoo.
She’s 50 years old and has a lot to say. Zookeeper Lizzy Larson explains, “They have the ability to mimic noises. So they mimic the things that they hear the most.”
Korbell is at about max life span for an Amazon in human care. In the wild, her species would not live as long.
“I always tell people I can tell her what to do because she’s older than me,” Lizzy adds.
