Celebrate the Night Sky Week starts Saturday
Celebrate the Night Sky Week returns for a seventh year starting Saturday.
As President of Starry Skies North, Todd Burlet has helped plan the events.
“About 20 years ago, I was in a suburban backyard in Chicago,” he said. “And I looked up at the night sky, expecting to see black sky and a sprinkling of stars. And what I saw was blue sky. And what it was was the 9 million residents of the region, their combined light was lighting up the sky and stealing the stars from them.”
That’s why he got involved with the Starry Skies initiative.
Starry Skies North is planning many free events throughout Sept. 9-16, including star parties, music, planetarium shows, and more.
All of the details can be found on Starry Skies’ website.
