Raise your stein because it’s Oktoberfest season. The Duluth Oktoberfestival returns to Bayfront Festival Park Friday-Sunday. Expect live music, German games, food, and bier. Tickets are $20. Kids under 15 get in free. Prost!

To burn some calories before the beer, head across the bridge to Superior. The Douglas County Humane Society is hosting the 24th annual Cause for Paws 5k on Barker’s Island. People can register before the race starting at 8 a.m. The starting gun – or starting bark? – is at 9. Your dogs can run along too.

Or maybe you’d rather just consume the calories. If that’s the case, there’s a Food Truck Festival in downtown Virginia. It goes from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. Plus, you can try your luck at bingo and test your skills at axe throwing.
