A new location for nearly 40-year-old toy store

Toys for Keeps has kept kids busy for nearly 40 years. The store recently relocated from Canal Park to Lincoln Park.

Cindy McCabe, one of the owners, said they’re excited about the neighborhood.

“It’s kind of the upcoming area and lots of fun things to do and breweries and restaurants and shops,” she said. “You can stop in here, pick up a game and go back to your house or one of the local places and play your game or a puzzle.”

McCabe and her husband Rob think they might have the biggest inventory of puzzles north of Minneapolis. The two have almost four decades of experience that encompasses both business and personal.

“We have almost 10 grandchildren, so a lot of the clothing and stuff has been tested and tried to see that that brand is good, and it stands up well. And same with the games and the puzzles. If it’s not a good one, we don’t carry it anymore,” McCabe said.

They’ve also started to carry some work from regional artists.

They’re open seven days a week at 2000 W Superior St.
