Tech Bytes: Instagram global outage

Instagram is back up and running after a global outage. The company blames the hours-long outage yesterday on a technical glitch. Meanwhile, Instagram’s parent company, Meta, is working on a Twitter clone. It’s expected to launch this summer. As a standalone, text-based app that will partially integrate within Instagram. In response to the news, Twitter’s new CEO tweeted: “game on.”

Door Dash is being taken to court, accused of charging iPhone users higher delivery fees than Android customers. In one example, the same order from a Panera Bread was charged a 99 cent “expanded range fee” but not on an Android device. Door Dash calls the lawsuit “baseless.”

Apple is reportedly planning to sell Nike merchandise from its hit show “Ted Lasso” through its online store. Bloomberg says it will include AFC Richmond jerseys, shirts and scarfs.
