Tech Bytes: IKEA’s three new smart home sensors won’t break your bank

IKEA introduces three new smart home sensors all for less than $10, Amazon's latest line of Alexa powered eyewear is available for preorder, and Microsoft's ugly Christmas sweater is a recreation of a famous default desktop background.

There are new offerings from IKEA. The Swedish retailer has introduced three smart home sensors, all less than ten dollars. They monitor doors, windows, and your property. One even senses water leaks. They’re expected to be available next year.

Amazon’s latest line of Alexa-powered eyewear is available for preorder. The third generation “Echo Frames” are lighter with better battery life and speakers. You can use the glasses to turn on the lights, play your favorite music or call your mom. They come in seven styles, and start at under $200.

Finally, this year’s Microsoft ugly Christmas sweater is a re-creation of the Windows XP default background, from the early 2000’s. They’re selling fast through the Xbox store For about $70. Proceeds will go to support an environmental group.
