Youth Climate Summit coming up at Rock Ridge next month

9th graders are working on their first ever Youth Climate Summit at Rock Ridge

9-12th graders from around the region are invited for the first ever Youth Climate Summit at Rock Ridge.

It’s coming up on Friday, March 8th.

9th graders at Rock Ridge are organizing this all.

“We really want to get the kids here who want to come, not just trying to skip school,” shared Jack Cochran. “It’s fun to be able to take on responsibilities, and for a cause.”

Addison Golden, another organizer, added, “So the goal behind the summit is to inform the youth in our community and school about the climate and what we can do for it. We know it’s important to save our climate and youth is our key to that.”

And Kyra Misquadace-Chemmer said, “As we continue to evolve as humans, and with new technology, we want to make sure we keep the world in as good as condition as possible.”

The keynote speaker is arctic explorer Will Steger. Other speakers include Chrissy Bartovich from U.S. Steel and Shaun Hainey from Northspan.

You’re asked to RSVP by Friday, February 16th.
