Wendy Durrwachter to run for Duluth City Council

Composer Wendy Durrwachter has joined the race for Duluth City Council’s 1st district seat.

Durrwachter was a single mother who supported her children through multiple jobs, working as a restaurant server while pursuing her passion for music. Durrwachter is now an accomplished composer. Her two children are Duluth Public School graduates who now work and attend school in the Twin Cities. She resides in Lakeside.

“I know what it’s like to have your kids leave after high school and wonder if they will be able to return to the city they grew up in,” says Wendy Durrwachter. “I will focus on doing the work to ensure Duluth stays a great place to call home.”

Wendy’s official announcement will take place at Hawks Ridge Overlook on Monday, April 10 at 10:00 am, with an introduction from State Senator Jen McEwen.
