Union Gospel Mission seeking donations of blankets and winter gear

Union Gospel Mission seeking blankets for their guests, now that winter returned

The Union Gospel Mission has run out of blankets, and is hoping the community will donate them for their guests.

Now that winter has finally arrived, the Union Gospel Mission needs help keeping their guests warm.

As of Tuesday, they were completely out of blankets, and are seeking donations of new or gently used ones.

You can drop them off Monday-Thursday, 9-5:30pm and Fridays 9am-1pm, 219 E 1st Street, Duluth.

“We are also low on boots and winter gear,” shared Katie Hagglund, the Executive Director. “A majority of our guests are struggling with housing instability, and need things to keep warm.”

Crystal Kuusisto, a guest there, told us, “They’ve been one of the places that has done the most for me. It’s a place to stay warm and safe. I’ve been dealing with a lot of stuff. And I even made my supply list, which includes new boots.”
