Two women charged in Superior overdose death

After a 6 month long investigation, the Superior Police Department says charges have been filed against two women for Reckless Homicide in an overdose death.

In November of 2022, Superior Police officers were called to the 1100 block of John Avenue for the report of a drug overdose.

Despite life-saving measures, a 45-year-old man was pronounced dead.

Police say their investigation lead them to both Cassidy Rose Anderson (34) and Madeline Jean Peterson (26). These women were allegedly involved in the sale and delivery of these drugs. They were both charged with Party to a Crime and Reckless Homicide.

In 2022, the City of Superior saw an approximately 21% increase in overdoses compared to 2021. The SPD says they are working with Douglas County District Attorney’s Office to charge those who sell and deliver those substances.
