Two people safe after ice break through on Upper Red Lake

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s office has confirmed that an ATV with two people went through the ice on Upper Red Lake Thursday morning.

A local resort was able to get the two people back to shore and has made arrangements to extricate the ATV.

First responders cancelled their ice rescue when they arrived at shore.

No injuries were reported.

There have been multiple ice break throughs on Upper Red Lake in the last two weeks.

Officials advise caution on the ice due to warm weather.
