Two thousand pounds of turkey are now at the DECC, ready to be fried up for the St. Scholastica’s Thanksgiving Day Buffet.

Volunteers made quick work of putting them into the coolers.

The free meal is tradition in Duluth.

Monica Hendrickson, the event chair, said they are grateful for the community support. And they could still use a few more dollars.

“So we’re still taking donations at Members Cooperative Credit Union in Duluth and Cloquet. You can actually drop a turkey off or you can make a donation online through our College of Saint Scholastica website. We’re still trying to raise another $5,000 to help cover all of our expenses this year. Of course, everything is more expensive,” she said.
