Through July, International Falls sees wettest year on record

So far, 2022 is the wettest year on record for International Falls. From January through July, the site received 26.09″ of precipitation. This tops the previous record of 23.64″ set in 2014. 2022’s total for this point of the year is almost a foot higher than normal, which is 14.95″.

International Falls hasn’t had an individual month fall below monthly normal since August, 2021. Spring did most of the heavy lifting so far this year. International Falls set a monthly record in April with 7.61″, and a season record for March through May at 14.62″.

Keep in mind, there are still five months left of 2022. In order to maintain the number one spot, August through December would need to bring in 17.36″. 1991 holds the record for highest annual precipitation for International Falls at 43.44″.
