ALEIA Project raises food allergy awareness with 5k and Fun Run

People gathered in Leif Erickson Park to raise awareness for food allergies on Saturday May 25th. There was a 5k run/walk at 8:00am and a kid’s Fun Run at 9:00am.

“I think it’s really important that allergy awareness is vocalized in our community,” says local Duluthian and runner Tony Bye. “Institutions, schools and the local businesses should be aware of severe allergies. My daughter, Autumn, has a peanut allergy and not a lot of people know that it’s an airborne allergy. It can have severe consequences for us.”

The ALEIA Project is a Minnesota non-profit organization that aims to create awareness and educational resources for the food allergy community.
