On Sunday April 30th the Superior YMCA hosted Superior Healthy Kids Day.

The Superior YMCA featured a variety of fun activities for the kids to enjoy and also gave a look into what summer programming has in store for the kids.

One of the most important parts of the event is seeing the connections being made between the communities.

One of the volunteers, Hannah Bourgault said “My favorite part about doing an event like this is just connecting everyone to each other, I think it’s a really great way to build the community and it’s really awesome that people are coming together and meeting new people and having fun.”

YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day includes fun active play and educational activities to keep kids moving and learning, in order to maintain healthy habits and academic skills to achieve goals and reach their full potential.

Nearly 1.2 million children and their families are expected to participate in YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day at more than 1,600 locations across the country.

Organizers at the Superior event also said that without continued support of the community events like this just wouldn’t be the same.
