Superior Fire Department combats simultaneous structure fires, one cat perishes

The Superior Fire Department combatted simultaneous residential structure fires Saturday morning.

The Superior Fire Department combatted simultaneous residential structure fires Saturday morning.

They responded to the first fire, a single-family home with smoke coming from the windows, shortly before 8:00 a.m. on Winter Street.

Firefighters remained on scene until 2:00 p.m. and were able to stop the fire from spreading to two adjacent homes, however the home itself was a total loss.

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Town of Superior Fire, Parkland Fire, Superior Police Department, Superior Public Works, Mayo Ambulance Service, and Superior Water, Light, and Power assisted at the scene.

Simultaneously, the department also responded to another residential structure fire around 8:20 a.m. on Fisher Ave.

Firefighters remained at this scene until 1:00 p.m.

One cat perished in the fire, but there were no injuries to the public or any firefighters.

This home is also reported to be a total loss and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
